SRI VENUGOPALASWAMY TEMPLE
Away from traffic & noise and amidst the beautiful green paddy fields, is a 300 years old temple located called Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple. Situated at Vittlapuram, 15 kms east of Tirunelveli near Seydunganallur town which is on the Tirunelveli - Tiruchendur Highway.
Beautiful Lord Krishna is seen in the middle along with his two wifes Bama and Rukmani. The Lord Krishna is seen happily playing the flute and having Sangu Chakra at both hands.

As a small river called Porunai (Tamaraibarani) flows in the back side of this temple, this temple God is better known as AATHENGARAI KRISHNAN in that village.
Its been said that about 300 years back, the God's idols were collected in the banks of the river and in the riverside itself this temple was constructed.
HOW TO REACH THIS TEMPLE
Frequent buses are there from Tirunelveli to Tiruchendur and also from Tirunelveli to Tuticorin.
From Tirunelveli:
One option is to catch a Tiruchendur bus ,then to get down at Seydunganallur and reach this temple which is nearly 3 km towards North.
Another option is to get into Tuticorin bus and get down at Vasavapuram and reach this temple which is nearly 3 km towards South.
One More Landmark:
This temple is very near to famous Vittlapuram temple called Panduranga Vittaleswarar Perumal Koil.
KUMBABHISHEKAM
With the blessings of Lord Krishna , the Kumbabhishekam of this beautiful temple is being planned for mid of this year 2011. A well known person in Tirunelveli district Thirupani KADAYAM RAMAN, retired Head Master has taken in-charge of this temple renovation work. The renovation work has been started by initial amount paid by well known persons of this temple. There is also a plan to construct the outside path way , also the compound wall of the temple and also to construct a nandavanam near this temple.We still need more funds for this Kumbabhishekam to happen in grand manner.
